“1984” is the first part of a fictional exhibition series that unfolds new narratives, explores and restages design related subjects from past to present. The concept of this ongoing show is to always reinterpret existing ideas and to create new approaches of an initial project by one protagonist. By commissioning contemporary graphic designers and photographers a space for curatorial practice is created. „1984“ reinterprets two late projects by Otl Aicher: the Rotis typeface family and the „Kollektion Maackpapier“, a series of gift wrapping papers that were based on a manual from 1984.
