My work focuses on African identity as seen through Western eyes. The two publications are part of an anthropological research conducted in South Africa. Taking African cosmogony as a starting point I set out to question my origins. Fascinated by fetishes and their mystery I aimed to demythologise these African folklores and immortalise them within a Western gaze. With thes two Western and African identities in permanent struggle I try to reconcile them in a form of cultural syncretism, which questions the ambiguity of ethnocentrism.
